Wedding Bells at Meritus Mandarin

Finally, we are embarking on our first step towards planning for the big day. I was glad that CJ showed enthusiasm and initiative into make our dream wedding come true.

We saw the upcoming Wedding Bells event organised by MediaCorp and thought it would be a good opportunity to start exposing ourselves to such wedding talks/ fairs/ exhibitions. CJ registered and signed both of us up which cost a reasonable $28 per couple considering that it was held at Meritus Mandarin.

Special packages were available to entice couples to sign up on that day.

We walked around the ballroom and sat down for a session with My Bridal Studio. Not attracted by their packages at all; they were expensive and yet locally shot.

I was just curious to see their gowns of which the promoter had nothing but praises for them, saying that they would definitely be worth the money for the materials and details of the gowns.

The programme started off with bridal show from My Bridal Room..

I like the grey and gold evening gown on the left.

Back design is nice but not the colour -pink- though..

Generally, I like the white wedding gowns from My Bridal Room. The promoter has every right to boast about them.

A close-up of the gown on the left.

I love the collar on this gown! It may look simple and ordinary from the front.... But..

It's so sexy at the back!

This unconventional grey-white gown is well-complimented with the glittery head accessory! I think I will have one of that on my head too.

A finale from My Bridal Studio.

Up next: BlueBay

BlueBay has got really out-of-ordinary evening gowns but none of them were to my liking.

Not at all impressive!

The much complicated gowns..

Simple but still.. not nice!

Who would want to wear something that will hinder their walking??

This looked more like it was reserved for the pregnant.

It was apparent that most, if not all, of their models have difficulties in walking..

Btw, this is said to be the most expensive gown in Singapore though we were not told how much exactly it cost. I think it should be due to the very tedious but redunant workmanship.
The programme ended off with an interview with the newly-wedded Michelle Chia and Shaun Chen.

Bridal studios

Met up with Don, his wife, Vanessa and Yan Ling for dinner at Suntec today.

Don shared with us on the wedding photo package which he took up with Signoria where the shooting venue was at the beautiful Bali! I was so envious!

They managed to get the package at a dirt cheap price of $3,000plus only simply bcos they were the models for the bridal studio. I saw a few of their photos on FB and they really do look like models!

Don mentioned that both of them actually did research on the poses that they wanted to shoot and showed the photographer the whole stack of magazine pages for him to achieve the same results. Eventually, they turned out pretty well.

I was thinking, maybe I should start my research on bridal studios now. I wouldn't want to settle for something which I do not like due to the lack of time..
