Jealousy

Recently, the jealousy inside me acted up.

I felt he was treating a female friend of his better than his wifey. He gave more attention to her and neglected me.

I was so upset. Really.

It was when I realised he is so important to me and that I do not want to lose him.

We had a heart-to-heart talk and I'm glad things got ironed out at last. I'm happy that we communicated and not let things die down without getting to the bottom of it. Perhaps I was too sensitive...

8th Anniversary

Today marks out 8th anniversary and also the first year we celebrate this anniversary as husband and wife.

Nothing fanciful; just an exchange of cards and a lunch at Fish & Co. The Glass House where we had our first meal together to indulge in reminscence.

Oh, I gave him a very special gift - a set of my house keys. :)

My parents-in-law got a contractor to the house to take measurements and review some renovations to be taken place at the living room and our room. Everything is going to cost a bomb :(

My MIL said I have to make do with the crampy space available until we got our own flat. If I can't get used to staying in the new environment, I may choose to go back to stay every week. How sweet :)

Letter from HDB

We receive a letter from HDB informing us that we have got a chance to select a flat from the Sale-of-Balance-Flats scheme we applied for in the Jurong east/ West area some time back.

It was such a disappointment. There is only one pathetic unit to decide on, which I don't call this a selection of flats as we are left with no choice. What's more, it's a unit on the 2nd level at Jurong West Street 81 (some ulu area near Pioneer station)

We won't even bother to waste our time at the HDB on 24 Feb.

Gym

We went for our first gym session together at Jurong Safra's EnergyOne!

It felt shiok with the aching muscles after that.

Impact Creative

Were at Impact Creative, the hotel's appointed decor this week.

We were supposed to choose our decoration theme for the ballroom as well as our wedding favour. After looking through their 7 choices of themes, we finally settled for 'Fall In Love' which focuses on red, with 2 small hearts and a huge one made up of fakes roses on the stage.

The concept behind - Two hearts become one.

We were told by Florence that we can change the colour of the chair cover to white since some parents might not like all black. I didn't realise until today that the organza ribbons that are used to tie round the chairs cost money too! It would cost a couple of dollars, I think. So, we decided to to tie on alternate ones.

The wedding favour was chosen as well. It's going to be a pair of salt and pepper shakers! Quite adorable! We can select up to 2 different favours but Henry thought we should just keep it to one, so that we will not have guests fighting over them.

After a visit to Impact Creative, we went to the Starbucks at Marina Square for some serious discussion cos we knew we would not be able to focus if we were to do it at either of our homes.

Finally settled on the t-shirt printer, as well as the design of the t-shirts - 'Brother' or 'Sister' printed on the respective groups of t-shirts.

My main concern right now is that, will it look too casual for a wedding?

Printer

We are finally going to meet up with our printer for the invite cards!

Sad to say, I was disappointed at their miserable selections of 2 designs........ a white colour for English and maroon for Chinese. We went for the maroon cos the white is simply too plain.

Chosen the paper and its colour, the colour of the text, the cute graphics to be included in the content, type of ribbon to secure the paper on the card.. in the end we had to fork out approx. an additional $200 for the invite cards! Nothing is free in this world!!!!

What makes me happy during this visit was that we bought customised ang baos! The ang baos are so adorable! They are only 3cm by 7cm long and we added cartoon graphics with our names on it. We get to choose 5 different colours of ang baos and the colour of the printed text and graphics!

We thought it would be meaningful to give them to our Brothers and Sisters on the big day and we can also use them for future weddings that we attend.

Round 2

Second round of photo selection and unfortunately for them, I didn't change my mind.

I looked through all photos one more round and increase the selected ones from 43 to 47, out of which, there were about 11 individual shots of yours truly :)

Hence, we spent some time to do some filtering and finally settled for 38!

The photo album will be ready in 1 month's time!!!

Photo selection

di Gio called to inform that our photos are ready for selection on Monday!

We went down after work in full anticipation of taking the first peek at our photos, in gowns and suits this time round.

There were a total of 273 photos, all in the sequence from the studio to the 3 outdoor locations. At least they were not as bad as I thought they would to mess up all the photos as a form of tactic to make us add on more photos.

Before reaching the bridal studio, I reiterated to Henry that I WANT ONLY 38 photos, no more no less and he must forbid me to increase the quantity of the photos if I lose my control.

When we saw the 1st photo, to be honest, I was rather disappointed cos my hair looks way too mature and those studio shots were quite.. passe-looking. I felt I was looking at my parents' wedding photos because of those poses we were told to do......

I didn't like the first Victorian-inspired hairdo cos my hair appeared chunky in photos; I didn't like my outdoor shoot's hairdo at the park besides Lakeside and the one at NTUC (actually they are the same, just a change of hair accessories) cos they make me look 10 years older than Henry!

The biggest chunk of photos came from the one in the studio where I was posing near the window in my AD gown and when I was wearing the purple toga at Tuas South. I have only chosen a couple from the Victorian hairdo where I wore the white and maroon gown (studio shoot) and a pathetic one from the park next to Lakeside.

I was surprised we didn't have many variety of shots from NTUC cos they were mainly taken at the fruits and veggies section but the photos turned out to be rather colourful and vibrant :)

We went through 2 rounds of viewing and finally selected 43 photos. Of course, di Gio never failed to upsell to their customers by offering a so-called "special promotion". If we were to top up an additional 20 photos, we only need to pay $1,288 more (UP $1600), plus ALL soft copies returned. Actually, I have made up my mind to take only what was given to us in the package as I do not want to pay additonal but for the fun of it, we negotiated and only managed to bring down $100 to $1,188.

Henry was tempted to pay that additional $1,188 as he thought the deal was worth it. However, I was adamant about keeping to the principle of not breaking my own promise. I'm proud that I managed to do it :)

Needless to say, a change in May's facial expression was inevitable. So, she thought we wanted to top up for the additional 5 photos we have selected but I said no, I want to reduce to 38. In the end, she changed her strategy and told us to come by again on Friday so as to look through all 273 photos once more, lest we missed out those beautiful ones due to the few minutes left before their closing. She also advised us to reconsider the special promotion she has extended to us...

Excited.

I'm getting more excited about the upcoming wedding partly because people around me are getting hitched too! People like Hui Han, Yiqian, Yue Min and my 3 other cousins..

In fact, while we were at Grandma's house for CNY gathering, I was discussing and exchanging pointers with my cousin's wife-to-be on the wedding packages, hotels, pre-wedding photo shoot and all other miscellanous of weddings.

I'm so looking forward to my wedding!!

Reunion dinner

Had my first reunion dinner at Hubby's yesterday.

Delicious and heartwarming summarised it all.

I think my MIL had specially arranged one for me so that on CNY eve, I can have it with my own family. They will be having another round of steamboat tonight. :)
