It should be dessert tasting to be exact...
We headed to OneRochester (OR) after work today. It was only meant to taste the 3 different desserts in our hi-tea menu but Joanne gave us a pleasant surprise by treating us to dinner at OR as well :)
Excited as we were to try the slightly pricey food that has earned quite a bit of praises from a few others, we found the food so-so, to be honest.
So, the first hour was spent on the dinner and of course, the desserts from 1Caramel. Here a picture taken:
From left to right: Mixed nut tarts, Coffee & Toffee crumble and Chocolate brownie
Out of the 3, only the mixed nut tarts made the mark. The coffee & toffee crumble tasted like the usual butter cake and the chocolate brownie were way too high on its sugar content that even a sweet tooth eater like me could not take it.
In the end, Joanne allowed us to choose 2 other alternatives from the wide array of choices. Thus, after much consideration, besides keeping the mixed nut tarts, we will be taking the cookies & cream cheesecake and an assortment of jellies in glass shots.
Anyway, we went on to discuss in further details on the ROM theme, decor, checklist and whatsnot. The theme has been changed to a Bali theme, we are bringing Bali into the garden. Joanne showed us the Bali-themed decor and I was very happy as I thought both of us like Bali very much!
I brought up that I quite like the strings of crystal beads which she showed to me in other decors earlier so she will incorporate that at one side of the trellis where the JP will be back-facing it. Even the couch and chairs at the solemnisation table is going to ooze that Balinese style.
Here's a list of items that we went through:
Ang Pow Box - Ivory, decorated in accordance to blue and green theme
Ring holder - Bird cage, ring pillow to be provided on own
Flower decoration at the trellis - To be decided again but will be complemented by ivy leaves
Champagne fountain - 4-layer fountain
Buffet - Island layout with ivory linen
Flower centre piece - flowers will be displayed in a fish bowl filled with water
ROM rehearsal is scheduled on 8 May, Sat and we will be going down together with our beloved emcee!
The whole discussion lasted till 10pm before we called it a day.
