Bridal shoes
My bridal shoes are ready! Went to International Plaza after work to collect them.
A sneak peek..
I was a little disappointed cos I thought it didn't look as great as the first time when I tried them on. The height of the heels does matter. I reduced it by 1 inch but I am sure it will aid in my walking that day :)

Just 1 more month...
HAPPY 86TH MONTH!!
I can't believe I'm getting married NEXT MONTH! I thought there're still 6 more months to go??!
Went for dress fitting at Yamei Aunty's today. I was pissed at her last week cos the fitting was supposed to be on 17 April but she went out of town - WITHOUT INFORMING ME! It was until when I called her to confirm the timing then I came to know about it from her daughter. How irresponsible!
I called her on Wednesday and she gave lots of excuses to cover up her negligence. I do not wish to elaborate further cos it will only get my blood boiling.
Anyway, we got to her house today and tried on a very raw piece of inner lining. Apparently, I managed to shed some flabs on my arms (yay!!) but not on the tummy! :( It felt tight...... Hai, more workouts to come! There are more amendments to be made and we have fixed the collection date on 15 May. Hopefully, there will not be any more tricks up her sleeve.... We paid an additional $100 deposit.
Headed to Marina Square to collect my Swarovski earrings! But to my disappointment, they were only 80% completed so have to go back next week. However, they look stunning!! HAHAHA!
Next on our cards - buying of materials at Spotlight. We spent a good 2 hours at Spotlight looking for guest book decors and ribbons for our invite cards. Eventually, we only managed to but some foam butterflies for the decor and the rest of the time was spent walking to and fro the ribbon sections that was unwittingly located at 2 ends of Spotlight.
We changed from a 5mm thick ribbon to a 9mm and finally a 15mm as we could not find 2 rolls of blue and green ribbons for the specific thickness.
Items bought from Spotlight:
- Fabric glue
- Foam decor
- 2 rolls of blue and green ribbons each
When we reached home, we got down to business excitedly. Tying of ribbons was no easy feat, seriously. But we finished all 4 rolls and realised we were still short of it.
Will show the work-in-progress of the invite cards soon!

Making their debut appearance.....
JIANG-JIANG!
Our customised rings from Fairy's Inc...
The rose gold engraving on the inside of his ring that reads: Henry & Flora 24 May 2010
Last but not least, a closer look at my detachable ring! The rose gold with the 2 hearts is customised in such a way that my proposal ring made it complete. It has a groove to hold the proposal ring in place.

Mini Honeymoon!
Henry went to Edward's for a haircut and I thought it would be good for me to meet up with him one more time before the big day.
He knew how my dress is going to be like and suggested that I tie my hair up in a loose and messy bun instead of letting it flow onto my shoulders since he doesn't want to make it look cluttered with the addition of the feathers.
Edward showed me a few looks from magazines and I told him briefly on what I wanted. He said he has a friend who can help him to buy nice head accessory and I will have to keep a lookout for nice ones should I find something I like.
Showed Edward this photo of which I want to achieve this look on that day:
I brought up my concern that I'm afraid this look is only suitable for a night function but Edward assured me that he will make it apt for my ROM, perhaps blending the black eye shadow with a tinge of dark green.
Mommy wanted to have her hair styled as well so Edward advised us to reach the salon at 10am on that day.
We picked up our rings at Fairy's Inc finally!! They will make a debut appearance soon.. They were beautiful!! I thought mine was really unique - one of a kind... Can't wait to put them on!
Evelyn taught us the correct way to tie the rings to the ring pillow and apparently, Henry, who is an expert in doing origami and other hands-on art & craft, did a better job than me!
There was supposed to be a diamond added to the side of the ring but that area was too small to have one so Evelyn did away with it. Finally, we paid the balance of our rings.
Made our way to the Travel Fiesta at Suntec Convention Centre with an agenda of signing a package for our mini honeymoon!! Both of us thought it would be great to have a short getaway after our ROM and plus, it is going to be the first time that we are going overseas - just the 2 of us! We came to realise that for all those previous trips, we have been going with our friends or family and never had we been on one alone...
Did some information gathering at Five Stars, CTC, Asa, Nam Ho, etc. We took up a package from Five Stars - 4D3N at Redang at $580 per pax! It was a little pricey though due to the peak PH period on 28 May. We will be staying at Laguna Redang Resort, the one where Xia Ri Mo Mo Cha movie was shot at! All meals will be provided with one buffet/ BBQ dinner and there will be 4 snorkeling sessions! The downside of it would be that we need to take a 10-hour coach ride, excluding the 1 to 2-hour ferry ride.
Nevertheless, I'm really excited about our mini honeymoon! Will be going on 27 May (after Joo and Jay's wedding) and back on 31 May!!

Bridal shoes
I’m so excited!!! I will be heading to Leapin Lizard for my shoe fitting after work!
Will post up a photo of it soon!
Will post up a photo of it soon!
Sad.
I feel kind of sad when 2 of my friends informed that they will not be able to make it for my ROM :(
Clarie replied my sms saying that she has an event for her work on that day whereas I just got Yoke Ying’s sms to say that her granny has just passed away so she can’t attend either as it is not over the 100 days yet.
Azzah messaged me this morning that she might be late for the ROM as she has only taken half day’s leave and will be rushing all the way down from Pasir Ris.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed, hoping there will be no more news of no turn-ups.

Earrings & invite card
I went to Marina Square last Friday to customize my earrings, finally.. Will be paying a cost of $40 - $60 for the materials and workmanship.
Shan, the designer from the shop told me that she will be securing about 2 to 3 crystals on each side of the tear drop crystal using super glue so that it can create the triangular shape with the 3 strings of crystals. I was a little concerned bcos the last thing I want is to have my earrings “collapsing” and scattered all over the place during the ceremony. But Shan assured me that super glue should be able to do the trick although it will have a small patch of dried up glue at a closer look.
I left all my crystals there and will be picking up the finished artwork on 24th this month! Can’t wait to see them!
Last Saturday, we faithfully stayed at home to complete the ROM tasks that have been lying around for the longest time. Done up our invite cards and got her cousin to come over to his place to take a look at it (feel so paiseh about it) cos she will be helping us to print them since she’s working in a printing company.
She suggested that we print 100pcs which we initially only wanted 70pcs as she said the size of our card is just A6. Everything seems fine and good to go except for the choice of material for the card. We are considering 200gsm so that it will be easy for us to fold into half.
We did a testing on the small canvas and paint marker that we bought from Bras Basah that day. Apparently, the paint marker really works wonder on the canvas!
Made our way down to Bras Basah again and bought one more green, gold and silver paint marker for our guest boards. We tried to hunt for decors for the boards but found nothing suitable except for some stickers. We are just left with these decors and ribbons for the invite card to buy.

Welcome signage
Our welcome signage... that has been through umpteen times of amendments.
I hurried Joanne for the design of the welcome signage so that we can adapt similar design on our invite cards. And as we still need to send them for printing, I need the artwork soon to be in time to pass them to our friends!
The inital design of it was terribly slipshod! It looked cluttered and as if the images were forcefully pieced together to look like a signage. Both Henry and I agreed that it was under standard.
So I got Joanne to re-do it and thankfully it turned out to be aesthetically pleasing to the eyes!

More crystals
Discovered another wonderful place today - Crystals n Beads at Jurong Point!
I bought more swarovski crystals which are more suitable for the making of my earrings! Since it's a DIY shop, I thought of making the earrings myself but I have no idea how to hold the 2 strings of crystals by the side of the tear-drop crystal.
Will think it through before I decide if I want to spend $40 - $50 at the shop in Marina Square for it...

Shedding the kilos!
In less than 2 months’ time, I would be donning that dress and march down the aisle in becoming Mrs Kao.
I have been rigorous in my exercise regimen, especially this week.
Monday: Jazz aerobics organized by company (1hr)
Tuesday: Weight-lifting (15mins) and inverted V push-ups (30times) for arms and tummy respectively
Wednesday: Jogging (20mins), weight-lifting (15mins) and inverted V push-ups (30times)
I know I have to work hard on it if I want to look and feel good on that day, that was why I have been cutting down on dinners but failed terribly at quitting chocolates!
Over the last weekend, I have received comments from six persons on different occasions that I have slimmed down. Thus, it’s an apparent fact that I have lost weight but I knew it was not at my targeted area – tummy. Probably it’s just the face which always shows the first sign when I feel stressed. Even Mommy, who has complained incessantly that I’m fat, asked if I had lost weight cos she noticed that my butt became runway-flat… alas, it was just the pants that became loose over time.
I shall keep myself disciplined in the upcoming weeks and stick closely to the exercise regimen!!!
